{"id":513,"date":"2010-09-24T13:49:18","date_gmt":"2010-09-24T13:49:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/quantumcinema.uni-ak.ac.at\/site\/?p=513"},"modified":"2018-10-29T07:25:31","modified_gmt":"2018-10-29T07:25:31","slug":"workshop-artistic-research-as-aesthetic-science","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/quantumcinema.uni-ak.ac.at\/?p=513","title":{"rendered":"Workshop: Artistic Research as Aesthetic Science?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the context of the art, science &amp; business program<br \/>\nof the <a title=\"www.akademie-solitude.de\" href=\"http:\/\/www.akademie-solitude.de\" target=\"_blank\">Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart<\/a>, in cooperation with the <a title=\"www.zeppelin-university.de\" href=\"http:\/\/www.zeppelin-university.de\" target=\"_blank\">Zeppelin University, Friedrichshafen<\/a> and with the financial support of the <a title=\"www.wuestenrot-stiftung.de\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wuestenrot-stiftung.de\" target=\"_blank\">W\u00fcstenrot Stiftung, Ludwigsburg<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Art research, artistic research, art-based research or research through, with, about arts are currently popular terms. However, one can speculate about what exactly is meant here, especially when following the international discussion of these terms.<\/p>\n<p>The interdisciplinary workshop \u00bbArtistic Research as Aesthetic Science?\u00ab is situated within this discussion. Art research as \u00bbaesthetic science\u00ab is conceived as a process that utilizes artists\u2019 specific knowledge, working methods, and competence and applies them to other contexts outside of the art system. It is neither research about art that then lies in the field of science of art, nor is it research with art that genuinely characterizes artistic production. Central to the discussion are forms of sensual insight that are combined with scientific practices to generate new knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>Experts from the fields of art research, artistic practice, history of science, and philosophy will address these topics in four thematic panels.<br \/>\nDiscussed will be questions on:<br \/>\n&#8211; Theory (Prof. Dr. Gernot B\u00f6hme\/Dr. Simon Grand),<br \/>\n&#8211; Methods and Techniques of Insight (Prof. Dr. Martin Tr\u00f6ndle),<br \/>\n&#8211; Organization (Prof. Ursula Bertram\/Prof. em.
